Tom (00:00.715)
This is the platform for a new SeniorCare Media Project.

If you'd have asked me three months ago.

Tom (00:15.067)
your time goes into discussing senior care or noticing senior care conversations, it wouldn't have been much. Now it's all the time. I've noticed even on podcasts that aren't related to senior care, for example, an attorney podcast, where on multiple occasions, the guest has mentioned the shift in responsibility from parents taking care of kids to kids taking care of parents and how abrupt that shift can be. That conversation has come.

from the chair of elder care attorneys who, for example, often feel like counselors when the family is smart enough to get with an elder care attorney, perhaps when their parent is just entering decline and it's maybe important to get things reorganized so that there's a new responsibility set for legal or bills or medical decision making and.

those elder care attorneys, what they're really doing is preventing these siblings from being at each other's throats in two or three years by sort of reformatting, again, the management structure of their family relationship and the care hierarchy dynamic with their parents. So.

It seems like this explore senior care conversation, and that's one example from one that I have many more, but the conversation, the introductory conversation to senior care, the conversation that seems to be, wow, nobody told me about this shift or I didn't know how quickly this shift happens from, you know, parent taking care of kids to kids taking care of parents and.

That's going to be the focus of the initial content for this Explorer Senior Care project. And so that opens the door to collaborations for if you are an elder care attorney, this could be the ideal platform for you to not only share great, valuable information with the Explorer Senior Care audience, but to also essentially you're making the pitch for why it's important to sit with an elder care.

Tom (02:34.587)
it's great to be proactive and operate far in advance of when it's an emergency and when decisions need to be made to set up the structure that's gonna best allow you to do so without creating tremendous personal friction amongst the family. And that's one example. Another example might be a company that rents hospital beds. I'm sure there's a skill set related to.

Moving a loved one from a hospital bed to a wheelchair or from a hospital bed to a walker and things as simple as that fall well within the realm of expertise of the type of home care professionals that founded explore senior care as a podcast. Shout out.

But it's a wonderful, if offered as an informational platform for their audience, it also becomes a soft selling tip of the spear for anyone who collaborates with the show. For example, a hospital bed rental company who offers not just the A, that service, but B, the type of information that the Explore Senior Care Project is about, which is how family members can advocate through that process.

and how family members can actually learn the techniques necessary to safely move somebody around when they rent a product like that. And these are the type of collaborations that make up sort of the foundation of this project. The door is open to anyone in the senior care space. Like I said, from law to bed rental and everything in between, there's an awful lot to talk about. And where does that fit into the sort of

early planning phases or all the things that people keep bringing up in all the conversations that I hear as a producer about, wow, nobody warned me about this. Nobody told me about this. Nobody told me what to do. Nobody told me what to look for.

Tom (04:39.171)
Let's start recording those conversations specifically. And then any potential collaborator, be you a lawyer, be you a medical supplies, whatever the case might be, if it warrants you creating your own material, perhaps for the users of your product, or perhaps you're a senior care in -home services business, and you would like us to provide for you or for your new family members this introductory course.

We can brand this material to you as a collaborator. And so the door is open to offering this information on the Explore Senior Care podcast. There was going to be a YouTube channel. There's going to be a great deal of effort into bringing in outside guests and expanding the circle of influence. And if that's something you or your business can take advantage of, and if you have information to offer.

in the senior care space to families who maybe are just getting their feet wet, or maybe are about to be blindsided with that big switcheroo, then you're perfect candidate for these collaborations. And we'd love to hear from you. You can schedule a call with me below. I'm Tom Ritter, the project director and the founder of the podcast is Cheryl Heinle. And we look forward to speaking.
